Project · Dormer Membrane

Parley Dormers

A client in Parley wanted their dormer to have a zinc-coloured finish to match the rest of the home, at the most cost-efficient price possible.

Location

Parley

Property type

Domestic

System

Slate grey membrane with standing seam profiles

Scope

Dormer membrane and metal capping

The Project

A Zinc Look Without the Zinc Cost

The client wanted us to fit a membrane on their dormer so that it would match the rest of their home, with a zinc-coloured finish to blend with the surrounding tiles, completed as cost-efficiently as possible.

Cost was the main challenge. Zinc is an expensive material, so we needed a suitable high-quality alternative. We also had to make sure the dormer looked right for the client while keeping its structural integrity.

Slate grey membrane in place of zinc

Standing seam profiles attached to the timber around the dormer

Formed metal capping fixed to the timber to waterproof the membrane

Outcome

The Same Look, for Less

We gave the client a cheaper alternative with the same look for a fraction of the price, using a slate grey membrane with standing seam profiles attached to the timber surrounding the dormer.

We also formed metal capping, fixed to the timber, to keep the membrane waterproof. The client was fully satisfied with the finished dormer.
