What Is the Alwitra Evalon Membrane?
Alwitra Evalon is a single ply waterproofing membrane made from vinyl-ethylene-terpolymer (VET), a blend of PVC and EVA. It is the membrane we use on most of our flat roofs.
Evalon contains no volatile plasticisers. Many PVC-only membranes lose plasticisers over time and degrade. Evalon stays stable and has good chemical resistance.
It has a polyester fleece backing and comes in effective sealing thicknesses of 1.2mm and 1.5mm, in slate grey or light grey.

How We Install Evalon
Survey
We inspect the roof and decide whether Evalon V or Evalon VSK suits the deck and build-up.
Build-up
Evalon can be laid on ply or on a built-up system of vapour control layer, insulation and membrane. It is compatible with bitumen and most insulation boards.
Laying the membrane
The membrane is laid and sealed to Alwitra's specification, with upstands, penetrations and edges detailed, so the roof stays eligible for its warranty.
Sign-off
We inspect the roof with you and hand over your 20-year materials warranty and 10-year insurance-backed workmanship guarantee.

Evalon V is fully adhered, bonded to the roof with an adhesive. Evalon VSK is self-adhesive, with a bonding layer already on the underside. Both use the same VET membrane and both suit warm and cold roofs. We recommend the right version once we have seen the roof.
