Terrace Warm Roofs in Westbourne

This apartment building in Westbourne had major structural issues, with the existing terrace areas dropping and the building closed to residents throughout the works. The main builder completed the structural works, and we then installed the new terrace warm roofs, which wrap around the entire perimeter of the property.

Height restrictions at the existing door thresholds meant we had to use a specialist insulation board, Deck VQ. This condensed board has the same U-value as a 120mm board but is compressed to 70mm. The boards must be ordered to suit the design of the roof, as they cannot be cut or fixed into without affecting their thermal efficiency.

The vapour control layer was self-adhered to the new plywood, the Deck VQ insulation was fully bonded, and the membrane was adhered to the insulation. We took the membrane up and over the parapet and weathered in 60 balustrade posts for the new handrail system.
