The Project

A Warm Roof for a New Extension Block

During summer 2024 we worked with Spetisbury Construction to install a new felt bitumen flat roof system as part of the school's refurbishment works. The project involved an extension block being built into the existing school, with a new insulated warm roof system.

The roof build-up was a plywood deck, Strata-Con bitumen vapour barrier, 150mm insulation, Strata-Base and the Strata-Cap SBS felt system, finished with GRP edge trim profiles. Once the roof was installed, we also completed liquid waterproofing details on the PV mounts, cable sticks, ventilation terminals and pipework (SVP).

Given the amount of work involved, we had a strict timeframe to complete everything, so that the trades inside could progress on schedule before the school holiday was over.
